On this journey, wake up early, eat breakfast if available, and continue to your next camp. In between, you will have many short breaks, including a lunch break. We start the day early so that we can get to the next camp on time before it gets dark.

We will walk for 5–6 hours every day on rough and rocky terrain during the 7-day adventure in Ruby Valley. After walking for many hours, you must be tired, so have your dinner and go to bed on time.

Day1

Upon arrival, a representative from Nature Excursion will stand at the arrival point with your name on a holding board. He will welcome you with our traditional garland and escort you towards the hotel. As you check-in to the hotel, take a rest and get refreshed for the trip briefing in the late afternoon at our office. After the briefing, you can explore the tourist hub called Thamel. You can enjoy the variety of food items and go to sleep on time to wake up the next day early in the morning.

Day2

Today, we will take a drive to Syabrubesi in a local bus, which takes 7–8 hours. During the drive, you get to see a diverse range of landscapes, including towering snow-capped mountains, beautiful terrace farmland, crystal-clear Trishuli Rive, etc. After reaching there, you can explore the town and relax at a natural hot spring. You will spend the day at Syabrubesi, with included meals.

Day3

On these days, we wake up early in the morning and get ready for our next camp right after breakfast. Our actual hike for the Ruby Valley starts today. We strategized our day with the steep climb for two hours. Upon reaching the top, the trail leads you through flat terrain and gradually up to the mesmerizing glimpse of Ghatlang village. Along the way, you will get to witness the beautiful terrace farmland, beautiful landscapes, and Parvati Kunda. After returning to the camp, explore the village and spend the night with included meals.

Day4

Today, we start our hike early in the morning with a hot and delicious breakfast. The trail takes you through gradual ups in the dense forest of rhododendron, pine trees, juniper, etc., which covers 15 kilometers (13.9 miles). The valley looks absolutely amazing, with vibrant hills and adorable landscapes. After walking for 3–4 hours, you will cross Khurpu Bhanjyang Pass and descend down to Symdang Village. In between Parvati Kunda and Syomdang, there is no lunch place. So take your packed lunch or snacks for the day. After reaching Somdang, take a rest and explore the village.

Day5

With morning breakfast, we set our day program to Tipling crossing through Pangsang Pass (3,842 m/12,604 ft), the highest point during the trek, and that covers 12 kilometers (7.5 miles). As we continue our day, the journey starts with a gradual climb in the dense forest of rhododendron, pine, oaks, etc. After 3–4 hours of walking, you will reach the top. Mesmerizing glimpses of the valley, lush landscape, and adorable vista of snow-capped mountains blow away your mind. 

We will take a short break and enjoy the scenario from the top, then continue towards Tipling Village. The trail descends steeply in a dense forest of rhododendron, pine, and terrace farmland. After 3–4 hours of walking, you will reach the camp. Upon reaching the village, you can explore the village. The Tamang community resides on the upper level of the village, and the BK community is on the lower level.

Day6

Today we kick off towards Chalish Gaon after morning breakfast. The Gurung and BK communities are present in the village. People are very friendly and welcoming here, and they even perform our authentic Gurung cultural program on your request. 

The journey from Tipling to Chalish Gaun starts with 20 minutes of steep descent in the beginning and on a flat trail in between farmland. After 2–3 hours of walking, you will reach the village and spend the night exploring it.

Day7

Today is an extra day at Chalish Gaon. On this day, we visit the natural hot spring, and that takes nearly an hour and a half. We will take a hot shower, enjoy nature, and return to the village. Upon reaching the village, you can explore it and spend the night with included meals.

Day8

Today is the last hiking day during the 7 days of the Ruby Valley excursion. We will take our breakfast early in the morning and spend the day hiking for 2-3 hours towards Borang Village. Along the way, you get to witness an adorable glimpse of Ganesh Himal, lush landscapes, and beautiful terrace farmland. After two hours of walking, we take a bus to Dhadingbesi and to Kathmandu.

As you reach Kathmandu, take a rest and get refreshed for the farewell dinner at the cultural restaurant in Thamel. We will meet at 6 p.m. in your hotel lobby and head towards the restaurant. After dinner, we will drop you off at your hotel, and you can take a rest.

With heavy snowfall, freezing cold, and a negative temperature, few travelers are doing this in these two seasons. Do I need a permit to trek the Ruby Valley?

Ruby Valley is a newly opened trekking route in central Nepal that is famous for homestay hiking. The adventure starts in Shyabrubesi, and that touches the Langtang Region, so a trekker is required to get the Langtang National Park entry permit. Also, it requires a TIMS card (Trekking Information Management System).

Langtang National Park Entry Permit: It can be issued either at the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) in Kathmandu or at Dunche before Syabrubesi. It cost NPR 1,500 (12) for SAARC countries and NPR 3,000 (USD 25) for other nationals.
Trekking Information Management System card (TIMS): It can be issued from the Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) in Kathmandu through travel agencies. It cost NPR 1,000 (USD 8) for SAARC nationals and 2,000 (USD 16) for other nationals.

Please note that the cost of the permit and the cost of the TIMS card might change in the future. It is always best to check the latest news to get accurate answers.

Do I need travel insurance for the 7-day Ruby Valley adventure?

Yes, while doing the 7 days of trekking around the Ruby Valley, it is mandatory to get valid travel insurance for your safety. While doing thrilling outdoor activities, especially in the mountains, the chances of injuries, accidents, altitude sickness, illness, etc. are very high. In such a situation, you might need to do an immediate evacuation. At this point, your travel insurance will greatly assist you financially.

While buying travel insurance, please be aware that it should cover up to 5,000 meters with all your medical expenses and helicopter fare.

What kind of meals are available on the Ruby Valley excursion?

Well! The Ruby Valley is not fully developed yet, like the Everest Region, Annapurna Region, or Manaslu. So, the availability of food during the journey is very basic. You won't get fancy food like in other places, except in Syabrubesi and Dhadingbesi. But you will get fresh, organic, and hygienic food that is brought straight from the farm.

Dal bhat, dindho, noodle soup, boiled potato, fried potato, egg items, etc. are the items available during the Ruby Valley trek. You will be fortunate to taste the local and organic food straight from the farm.
