The cost for Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality will be NPR 2000 per person, and they don’t charge any VAT for these entrance fees.

Required Documents

When you apply for the entrance fee, you require a passport, and they will take your photo at the authority center office.

Where do I Get a Permit?

The permit is distributed at Lukla, and there is a permit authority center. If you bypass to issue your permit at Lukla, and have already started your journey from Phaplu, you can buy the Permit at Sagarmatha National Park at Manjo.

This system is helping trekkers more reliable and prompt enough to check in at every checking point. It is a digital form of permit which is a trekkers safety tracking system. Through this Permit, you will easily get the regional information by tapping it (if you have NFC enabled on your device) or by scanning the QR code.

The Everest Base Camp trek is one of the most prevalent and demanding trekking termini for adventure enthusiasts. Trekking to Everest Base Camp comes inside Sagarmatha National Park. To enter, travelers need to issue the Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit which was declared a national park by UNESCO in 1997.

The national park has covered a total of 1,148 sq km, where a variety of flora and fauna are conserved under the protection of Sagarmatha National Park.

Cost for the Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit

The cost of the Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit will be NPR 3000 with 13% VAT, but childrens below 10 years are free. On the other hand, the people from SAARC countries cost NPR 1500 with 13% VAT.

Where do I get a permit?

The Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit can be issued either in Kathmandu at Nepal Tourism Board, Lukla or Manjo. If you join the travel agency, the travel company will get it for you. For solo travelers, Lukla or Manjo is the best place to issue.
