Clients Reviews

  • Perfect trip with amazing people

Me and my friend did the Annapurna Circuit and Mardi Himal with Karan as our guide. We had an amazing time and we were soo happy with the way everything was arranged. Good places to sleep and eat, always looking out for our safety and good company. As two young women, we always felt safe, while we also had a blast. My friend is gluten intolerant, and even that was taken well into account and arranged by Karan.

    I highly recommend Nature Excursion.

  • Safety first and see you soon!

Due to the weather, we weren't able to trek very far. However, there is so much I have to say about Karan and his team. Such professional men, and always had our safety first. I would 100000% recommend trekking with this company. I still carry a lot of grief over not being able to complete the trek, but I am so comforted by the fact that we were safe and with professionals. When I come back to Nepal, I look forward to trekking with Karan again.

Best time to do the Annapurna circuit trek with Tilicho Lake

When planning your Annapurna circuit with Tilicho Lake trek, it's important to consider the weather conditions, as they can greatly impact your experience. At Nature Excursion, we organize this trek throughout the year, so you have the flexibility to choose a time that works best for you.

The best times to trek are in the spring (March to May) & autumn (September to November), when the skies are clear, temperatures are pleasant, and there is minimal rain or cloud cover. These seasons offer stunning panoramic views and comfortable trekking conditions.

However, if you're up for a challenge, some trekkers enjoy tackling the Annapurna Circuit in the summer or winter. Note that these seasons come with their own unique challenges. In the winter, cold temperatures and snowfall can make trekking more difficult, while in the summer, the trails can be slippery due to monsoon rains.

Annapurna circuit trek with Tilicho Lake in spring (March to May)

Spring is undoubtedly the most popular time for the Annapurna circuit with Tilicho Lake trekking. This season boasts mild temperatures, low rainfall, and clear skies, making it ideal for trekking. During this time, thousands of travelers flock to the Annapurna region to experience the stunning views and diverse landscapes.

At higher elevations, the average daily temperature ranges from 8°C to 0°C, which can feel chilly but is manageable with the right gear. In the lower regions, the temperatures are warmer, making it comfortable for trekking. This pleasant weather, combined with the beautiful blooming flowers and greenery, makes spring an incredible time to embark on the Annapurna circuit and Tilicho Lake trek.

Annapurna circuit trek with Tilicho Lake in summer/monsoon (June to August)

June to August mark the summer season in Nepal. It also coincides with the monsoon (rainy season), which can make trekking in the Annapurna region more challenging. Although the temperature during this time is quite warm and pleasant, the trails can become wet and slippery, making it difficult to navigate.

The monsoon season typically starts at the end of June and lasts until the first week of September. At high elevations, the daytime temperature ranges from 10°C to 23°C, while the nights are cooler, ranging from 5°C to 10°C. Despite the rain, the mornings are generally cloud-free, but clouds tend to appear in the afternoon and retreat at night.

One advantage of trekking during the monsoon season is the blooming of various plants, which makes the trekking region look lush and green. We recommend bringing proper rain gear and being prepared for the wet and muddy trails during this season.

Our experienced guides are Intensive Wilderness First Aid trained and have years of trekking experience, ensuring your safety even during the monsoon season.

Annapurna circuit trek with Tilicho Lake in autumn (September to November)

The Annapurna circuit and Tilicho Lake trek during autumn are truly unforgettable experiences. With the pleasant temperature, mild wind, and clear skies, this season attracts trekkers from around the world. As the monsoon ends by early September, the weather remains mild to warm throughout autumn. The daytime temperature, especially at high altitudes, can reach up to 20 °C, while the nights are cooler, with temperatures around 5 °C.

The stunning views during autumn are beyond words. The greens that grew during the monsoon gradually faded to golden/amber, providing a spectacular contrast against the crystal blue skies. The fields are full of ripening grains, and the environment is clean and refreshing. This season also coincides with the three biggest Hindu festivals, Dashain, Tihar, and Chhath, adding to the cultural experience of the trek.

Annapurna circuit trek with Tilicho Lake in winter (December to February)

During the winter season, the days are sunny, with temperature ranging from 6°C to 12°C. However, at night, the temperature can drop below -10 °C. The temperature drops rapidly as the sun sets, and trekkers should prepare for cold nights. From late December through early February, it is the coldest time. After late February, the temperature gradually rises to -5 °C.

The region is relatively dry during this time. Despite the cold, the views are crystal clear, and the trail is least busy. You will be surrounded by thick snow and may experience snowfall. The lack of vegetation and clear skies provide unobstructed views of the snow-capped mountains.

Accommodation during the Annapurna circuit with Tilicho Lake trek

We use lodge accommodations during the trek and hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara. We will book the best and cleanest lodges for you along the trail for overnight stays. In Dharapani, Chame, Pisang, Manang ( 2N), Muktinath, Tatopani, and Ghorepani, the rooms will have attached washrooms. You can choose twin-sharing or single rooms as per your comfort.

Things you should know about 16 days Annapurna circuit and Tilicho Lake trek

  • Charging: There are paid charging services available along the Annapurna circuit trail. However, as this trek is quite long, we highly recommend a solar charger and spare batteries for the journey.
  • Communication/Internet: Most lodges at lower elevation offer WiFi services for a small fee, but due to the area's remoteness and elevation, the network may not be reliable at all times. For better connectivity at a reasonable price, purchase a tourist SIM card. Our team will be happy to assist you with this.
  • Luggage: Each person's duffel bag is limited to 10 kg, which our porters will carry for you. You can carry a daypack with a weight limit of 5 kg to store your essentials.
  • Tip: In Nepal, tipping is a significant part of the travel culture. We do not include tips in our package cost. If you are happy with the service of our team, we request you tip our on-field crew, including the trek guide, drivers, tour guide, and porters, according to your preference at the end of their service.
  • Travel Insurance: We strongly advise you to get travel insurance covering emergency evacuation and medical bills for the Annapurna circuit Tilicho Lake trek. It is a very high-altitude trek with underlying risks of injuries and altitude sickness.
  • ATM: We recommend getting Nepali cash to use during the trek as there is no ATM along the trail, and locals do not accept foreign currency or cards for payment. You will need extra money for services like hot showers, charging, and WiFi while trekking.
